By the middle of 2018 in Russia, the first truly domestic multifunction printer (MFP) may appear. It is based on the Russian hardware, including the Baikal processors. By 2019, it is promised to bring the localization of its production in our country to 100%.

As it became known to CNews, by mid-2018 the first Russian multifunctional device (MFP – printer, scanner and copier combination) “katusha” will be put into industrial production, the basis of which will constitute the domestic processor «Baikal-T1», produced by the company «Baikal Electronics» (a subsidiary of the «T-platform»).

The company «Service Systems» is engaged in the creation of an inkjet black-and-white multifunction device with a modular design from the end of 2015 – a «daughter» of the Group of Companies «IT Systems», created for the project and specializing in outsourcing printing services. As the managing partner and the director on strategic development of the Group Dmitry Kudryavtsev told CNews, at the moment the project is being implemented at the own expense of the structure. According to him, the amount of investment is measured in tens of millions of rubles.
