MFD «katusha»: DOMESTIC COMPETITOR TO HP PAGEWIDE?

In Russia, the first domestic printer with unique technology of Full-Page High-Energy Capillary Printing (PHC) will appear. Dmitry Kudryavtsev, Director for Strategic Development of the Group of Companies «IT Systems» answers the questions of PCMag:

– Tell us a little about the company, about the project: how did the idea come about, how did it develop, who does it?

-The group of companies «IT Systems» unites several legal entities with different profile orientation (development, distribution, service, sales) and was founded in 2009. At its core, the group is based on private capital, has no corporate affiliation.

It is one of the Top 30 largest outsourcing operators in Russia by turnover, a member of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs. The basic type of activity is outsourcing and development of corporate workflow infrastructures.

The smaller directions are: system integration, consulting in the field of IT.

The idea of creating multifunctional devices has existed for a long time, probably, from the moment of foundation. The first steps were taken in early 2015, when the OEM agreement was negotiated with a vendor manufacturing office print devices based on laser technology.

However, we did not agree on price. Nevertheless, after seeing the first market signals about the introduction of inkjet devices by the world’s leading manufacturers into the corporate market, we thought: why do not we jump on this train?

Having studied the dynamics of technology, it became clear that the moment is the most accurate – now there is a quiet change in the printing platform all over the world. It is quiet because the toner market still generates profit and it’s early to break, but marginality and the promise of inkjet is several times more interesting and technologically feasible.

Then we quickly searched the technological teams around, pulled experts from the industry and realized – everything is real. So the project began.
